Photography
- Technical photography was of huge help in my different projects. Knowing how to use settings of a camera to cretae the most reproducible pictures for experiments has been critical for my groups working with plant phenotyping. I still advice forme colleagues to design experimental protocol to acquire precise, reproducible and unbiaised pictures.
- Artistic photography is he obvious counterpart of technical photography as mastering how a camera works gives you length to create effects and special compositions that can be emotionlly impactful for an observer. Literature
For years now am I interested in Literature and I have a weakness for Science Fiction. I use to visit one of my favorite city in France yearly for a special event called Les Utopiales where writers, readers and scientists join conferences to talk about novels, anticipation, fundamental science and the futures.
Plants
I am fond of plants, and have the soul of a gardener. I enjoy to plan, take care of them, identify them in nature and study there ecosystems. For years before my arrival in Sweden, I maintained a collection of very atypic species of the genera Pachypodium rare xerophyts plants forming pachycaule phenotypes to store water.
